The Olympic Family

The British Olympic Association

The BOA is the organisation responsible for leading and preparing TeamGB at the Olympic Games and has the responsibility for developing the Olympic Movement throughout the UK.

The British Olympic Foundation

The charitable arm of the British Olympic Association, the BOF promotes Olympic education and the Olympic Values to young people across Great Britain.

The International Olympic Committee

The IOC supervises the organisation of the Summer and Winter Olympic Games.

The Paralympic Family

Ability vs Ability

Ability vs Ability is the official Paralympic Education programme of the British Paralympic Association, developed in partnership with NASUWT.

The British Paralympic Association

The BPA is responsible for selecting, preparing, entering, funding and managing teams which compete at the Paralympic Games and the Paralympic Winter Games.

The International Paralympic Committee

The IPC supervises and co-ordinates the Paralympic Summer and Winter Games and other competitions including World and Regional Championships in 13 sports.

ParalympicSport.TV

ParalympicSport.TV is a free-of-charge, top quality television channel broadcasting via the Internet. The goal of ParalympicSport.TV is to provide a variety of content from the Paralympic world.

Parasport

Parasport is a joint initiative between the BPA and the professional services firm Deloitte. The project is already helping to open up sporting opportunities for disabled people all over the UK, building participation in sport at the community level.

Get Set and London 2012 Partners – Go further

the Pod

EDF Energy, a London 2012 Sustainability partner, have launched a website called the Pod. The Pod is full of ideas and activities especially designed to help you cut down the energy and water you use at school, college and at home.

Inspiring Excellence

Find out more about the Young Ambassador Programme, managed by the Youth Sport Trust. The Young Ambassadors have been specially chosen to help promote sport and the Olympic and Paralympic Values to other young people across their School Sport Partnership and their communities.

Make Your Mark Challenge

Find out more about the the Make Your Mark Challenge, the UK’s largest, free, one day national enterprise competition for schools and colleges. It kick-starts Enterprise Week which is part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, 17-23 November.

athletesDIRECT visitng scheme

Elite athletes from Olympic, Paralympic and World Sports available to book for one-off visits to inspire young people. Registered athletes are screened for their visiting experience and charge a small fee. Find out more and book an athlete to attend your schools sports day, presentation evenings, classroom Q&A and more.

BT Better World Campaign

The Better World Campaign is designed to help you become a better communicator. There are lots of free resources and great opportunities available to all young people.

Deloitte Employability Initiative

The Deloitte Employability Initiative supports further education colleges in the delivery of employability skills to their students alongside vocational training in any sector. Nine Deloitte Employability Centres will train 800 FE teachers who in turn deliver employability courses to 40 000 young people.

The Department for Children, Schools and Families

The DCSF is the lead department on delivering an educational legacy for the London 2012 Games.

The Greater London Authority

Podium is the FE and HE Unit for the London 2012 Games.
