On June 23rd Canterbury Christ Church University hosted a conference for Young Ambassadors as part of the Kent 20 in 12 Learning Programme. Young Ambassadors from across the county were invited to think of how they may inspire their schools to develop a learning project using the Olympic and Paralympic Games as a stimulus. 28/04/2009 - University Lecturer to receive presitigious award.
A lecturer from Canterbury Christ Church University will be awarded the first Pierre de Coubertin Prize for her world-leading Olympic research.
Senior Lecturer in Sociology of Sport and Leisure, Dr Dikaia Chatziefstathiou, will receive the prestigious prize at a ceremony on Friday 24th April 2009 at the International Olympic Committee headquarters in Vidy, Switzerland. Find out more >>
23/03/2009 - London 2012 is inviting young designers aged 16-21 years to create a new infill for the London 2012 Olympic logo.
This special version of the logo will sit alongside the London 2012 Paralympic logo and be known as the London 2012 ‘education logo’. It will be seen in communities across the UK!

Hockey star, Mel Clewlow, will share her experiences of the 2008 Beijing Olympics in a Public Lecture at Canterbury Christ Church University on Tuesday 27th January, 6.00pm. The Canterbury hockey star and double Olympian, Mel Clewlow, will give a lecture entitled: ‘Reflections of the Beijing Olympics: The Olympian’s View playing for Great Britain Women’s Hockey’, which will give an insight into her time preparing for and competing in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. more >>

Young artists from a number of Kent Schools are exhibiting their artwork in the Sidney Cooper Gallery in Canterbury.
The exhibition, organised by Mike Butler, the Canterbury Christ Church University Arts Manager, titled 'Artists of Tomorrow' has used the Olympic and Paralympic Value of 'Inspiration' as the 'inspiration' for the work. more >>
09/10/2008 - School events on 17th September
"Canterbury Coastal Partnership Schools from Herne Bay and Whitstable took part in the Kent "Sign up to the Olympic values" day on 17th September to coincide with the close of the Paralympics in Beijing.
Get Set, the national Education programme for the Olympic and Paralympic Games has now been launched.
Our aim is for all Kent schools and settings to register for this programme.

17/09/2008 - Paralympic Success
The GB Paralympic team have made a fantastic start to the Games, winning 20 medals in the first few days of competition, including 9 golds. Indeed, the GB Paralympic team won four golds on the opening day of the games.
