£10,00 for Study Support is a new project which is designed to fund schools using the Olympic and Paralympic Games as a stimulus for Study Support and Extended Schools Activity.

Kent Extended Services, in collaboration with the Kent 20in12 Learning Programme and Canterbury Christ Church University is seeking to fund 20 projects in 12 months in schools across Kent. Funding will be provided for projects that engage learners in out of school hours activities that complement the learning themes of the Kent 20in12 Learning Programme.

Twenty project grants of £500 will be offered to schools, or to staff and students of Canterbury Christ Church University (to work with schools) to enable them to plan and deliver a study support or extended schools learning project.

The learning project will engage learners in a series of out of school hours sessions over the course of at least one term (approximately six weeks), will culminate in the production a written case study report that reviews and celebrates the project.

A successful application will require the following:

•     To plan a Study Support and/or Extended Schools Activity learning project that uses the Olympic and Paralympic Games as a stimulus
•     One of the learning themes of the Kent 20in12 learning Programme will form the basis of the learning project
•     To plan a series of (at least) six out of school hours sessions which will represent the learning project in action
•     To ensure learners produce material that can be exhibited as evidence of the learning project (desirable)
•     To produce a written case study review of the learning project for dissemination
