The ACE Partnership schools will be celebrating together the arrival of the Olympic Torch. The schools will come together on 18 July in Hamstreet to watch the Torch pass and then take part in a Guinness World Record attempt. There will also be a balloon release where the children’s hopes and dreams will be attached to the balloons before they are then released.
As the Torch will be visiting The North School for a lunch stop on 18 July, students in years 7-9 will be involved in carnival style activities that will follow the Torch as it travels onto the school field.
Whilst the Torch is packed down for lunch, there will be a number of Olympic based performances being staged on the school field. Once the Torch departs, the children will continue to participate in Olympic themed activities so the spirit of the Games can be experienced by all.
Every school in the District will be invited to bring two students with a member of staff to celebrate this memorable occasion.
